For Families looking for a quality preschool I would like to suggest a couple of my top picks.  Starting with TLC preschool in Huntley. (It is a Christian based program) I have known the Director Sue Hansen for many years and have had the opportunity to see her and her staff in action and was more than impressed by them.   If you do not want a religious based program I suggest Learning Tree of Crystal Lake, ( it is not affliated with the day cares but is a single preschool only program)  I have known the Director there to for many years, Kim Schneider,  and her staff.  The Director also teaches like I did and has her Masters in early childhood education.  This too is a wonderful program.   These are just a couple of suggestions for LITH, Algonquin, and Huntley families.  If you would still like to do some research on preschools I suggest that you make sure that the preschool is licensed through DCFS or the local school district.  DCFS does background checks on all staff and makes sure that the building and equipment meet minimum State standards.  NOT ALL FACILITIES ARE if they are religious or affiliated with another government facility they are not necessarily licensed.  If not licensed they also can call anyone a teacher, but with DCFS they have to meet the standards of education.  Good luck and I hope I was of some help to you and your preschooler!
